Tastings and Treats in LODO
Denver is the “Microbrewery Capital” of the nation. Enjoy this wonderful part of Denver by visiting and sampling some of Denver’s great brewpubs in the Lower Downtown area, affectionately known as LODO. The tour will be orchestrated by a delightful brew-meister who will entertain and instruct on the finer points of Denver beer.
Breckenridge Brewery
Back in the 1980s, founder Richard Squire had a dream — to ski all day and drink great beer every night. So he started brewing his own. In February 1990, he opened the original Breckenridge Brewery & Pub in Breckenridge, Colo. Today Richard's original recipes and a handful of seasonal beers are handcrafted at three locations in Colorado. Tour includes tastings of six different beers and Nachos Grande (there have been articles written about them!).
Great Divide
In 1994, Brian Dunn channeled his passion for home brewing and his love of beer into a major professional gamble by opening a microbrewery in Denver’s emerging beer scene, then consisting of just four brewpubs. This commitment has not gone unrewarded — Great Divide has racked up 12 Great American Beer Festival medals and four World Beer Cup awards, and was recently honored as the 23rd Best Brewer in the World. Tour visits the new Denver bottling facility and includes a tasting of four different beers.
Falling Rock Tap House
This is one of the “top 10 beer bars in America” according to Celebrator Beers News. Falling Rock Tap House has more than 70 beers on tap, both domestic and imported. They have great food in a friendly and fun atmosphere. The Tap House features pool tables and dart boards for your entertainment. Your personal brew-meister will select various beers for you to try. Tour includes tastings of six different beers and their award-winning fried mushrooms, queso and chips, and chicken wings.
Price: $66 — includes tour guide/brew-meister, transportation in a luxury motor coach, food and beverages, and taxes and gratuities
