Glance over the horizon. Stunning red sandstone formations heighten your interest at the Garden of the Gods. At the Visitor Center, enjoy “How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?”, the dynamic 12-minute multimedia show with four screens, lasers and more. This presentation makes you feel like an eyewitness to the creation of the beautiful rock formations.

At the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains, the United States Air Force Academy is Colorado’s most frequently visited man-made attraction. Highlights of your visit will include touring the Visitor Center, the Planetarium and the beautiful Cadet Chapel.

The tour concludes with the Cave of the Winds. More than 200 million years ago, a cave system began to form deep within the Williams Canyon Limestone, a rare geological formation which occurs nowhere else on earth. As eons passed, cracks grew into a spectacular network of rooms and passageways encrusted with beautiful stalactites, stalagmites and flowstone curtains. Nature kept these wonders hidden in absolute darkness until 1881, when two young brothers on a church picnic discovered the Cave of the Winds. Since that day, the site has become one of Colorado’s most popular and exciting scenic attractions. This walking discovery tour takes about 45 minutes.
